The Candyman /// Part 2 /// 252

Part 2 of 2

True crime buffs all know the legends of the true crime world, the serial killers who have stood out. There are names like Gacy, Dahmer, Bundy and BTK… these names are synonymous with the word “monster.” But before these notorious killers roamed our streets hunting humans, there was another monster. A mass murderer so evil that he deserves to be in the same category as these infamous killers. This week we tell the story of Dean Corll, the killer candyman.

The Small Town Murders /// Part 2 /// 250

Part 2 of 2

www.TrueCrimeGarage.com

Back in 1982 murders in a small town in Ohio rocked a community to it’s core. Rumors in town swirled and circled around one suspect in particular. But most feared the worst. Some said a group of drug addicted satanists were sacrificing the lives of the town’s youth. Others believed a deranged psycho was just starting to spill blood in their town. Either way, the local law enforcement, the FBI and outside agencies could not agree on a prime suspect. This week we visit a small town that was visited by murder.

Part 2 of 2

Michael Francke was a good man. He was hired in 1987 as the Director of Oregon state’s Department of Corrections. Michael was brought in to oversee the largest prison expansion in the state’s history. The Oregon prisons were very badly overcrowded. Many believe that Michael discovered something unsavory. This could have been corruption in the Oregon Department of Corrections, or an organized criminal element in the prison system. People believe this because Michael was telling them this. Before he could reveal the evil that lurked beneath the surface someone attacked and killed Michael Francke.

Kathleen Peterson was smart, vibrant, professionally successful, and by all accounts a superb daughter, mother, sister and friend. On December 9th, 2001 Kathleen died mysteriously in her home. Was it an accident or murder? In 2004 HBO documented her death and the trial and conviction of Kathleen’s husband, Michael Peterson. In 2018 Netflix documented the release of Michael Peterson. This has been by far one of our most requested cases. HBO and Netflix covered “The Staircase” and this week True Crime Garage is on the case!
